Adams State College is still the school to beat when it comes to distance running in NCAA Division II.

It’s hardly a surprise, given the string of national championships the Grizzlies own, but ASC is ranked No. 1 in both men’s and women’s polls of the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released Sept. 16.

Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schools figure prominently in the rankings. Western State (Colo.) is second in the men’s poll, and Colorado School of Mines is eighth. WSC is sixth and Mesa State (Colo.) 19th in the women’s poll.

The RMAC’s New Mexico Highlands University has been ranked regionally by the USTFCCCA.
