Richard B. Gonzales of Trementina and Tucumcari, N.M., passed away on July 26, 2012.
He was born, in Trementina on Dec. 4, 1924. He was a rancher and truck driver.
Gonzales, who never married, was preceded in death by his parents: Lucio and Carolina Hurtado Gonzales, his sisters: Agapita and Abenecia and his brothers: Juanito and Frank.
He is survived by his sister, Carolina Gravision, his niece, Juanita Bednorz, his first cousins, Carlota Trujillo, Beatrice Ensz and Corine Tenorio. Also his cousins, Mindy Jarry, Rudy Tenorio, Laura de Vargas, Sonja de Vargas and Lazaro Estrada, his good friends, Bob and Helen Davis and Heidi Fenton, his many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends and his dog “Smokey” and his horse “Horse.”
Honorary pallbearers are: Rudy Tenorio, Bob Davis, Delfinio Garcia, Bronson Moore, Lynn Jarry, Alfonsito Sanchez, Elmo Pacheco, and Joe Martinez.
Gonzales requested his remains be cremated. A memorial honoring his life is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Tucumcari Convention Center.
