Robertson girls dominated the afternoon Wednesday in a clean sweep of Hope Christian in Albuquerque.
Meanwhile, the Cardinal boys swept the top three singles tennis matches in a good showing overall.
Juliana Guerin, back in the lineup to begin a run at another state championship, conquered Abby Rosenthal 6-1, 6-1, in No. 1 singles. Jaci Fulgenzi won a tough one with Katie Keeling at No. 2. Jenese Fulgenzi, Kimmeah Martinez, Morgan Hosch and Hannah Montoya all won singles contests for the Lady Cards.
In girls’ doubles it was more of the same, as the Fulgenzi girls won 6, (4) and 2. Guerin and Hosch took a straight-sets sweep, and Martinez and Montoya won 6–1, 6-1.
David Romero’s 6-1, 6-5 triumph over Ben Spangler headlined the afternoon for the Robertson boys. RHS teammates Michael Salas and Marcos Gallegos also prevailed at No. 2 and No. 3.
Ali Shabadneh won at No. 7, and the doubles team of Salas and Gallegos took one of the three doubles matches.
