Retired educators meeting in Vegas

Educational retirees from throughout the state are in Las Vegas this weekend for the New Mexico Association of Educational Retirees’ state convention.

It’s the latest in a string of conventions and annual meetings hosed by Las Vegas, and state and county officials are thrilled with the boost to the local economy generated by the events.

Local organizers of the educational retirees convention said that as of Wednesday 145 people had registered to attend.
