A mayoral candidate in Wagon Mound has reported to authorities that her campaign signs have been marred with racist graffiti.
Betty Ann Medina, a village council member who is facing Arthur Arguello in the mayor’s face, said three of her signs on N.M. Highway 120 on the way to Roy were vandalized with swastikas. Someone wrote “KKK” on another, and five were stolen, Medina said.
The only sign unaffected was near some dogs, she said.
