• NMHU Foundation is sponsoring a Fine Art Print Lecture series by Dr. Robert Bell, 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22 at the George and Sheryl Talbot Fine Art Print room in Kennedy Alumni Hall. • Story Time at Carnegie Library, 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23 in the children’s area of the public library. This week’s book is “Dragon’s Easter Egg Hunt” by Mae Marks. Free and open to the public.

• Volunteers needed for the Gallinas River Clean-up, 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 26. Hermit’s Peak Watershed Alliance, along with partners Tierra y Montes, NMHU Conservation Club, and Keep Las Vegas Beautiful, will be hosting a river clean-up along the Gallinas River in Las Vegas and in some areas in the Gallinas Canyon. September’s flood left a wake of trash in the Gallinas River. Meet at 9 a.m. at the West Las Vegas High School Parking Lot on April 26. • Mothers’ Appreciation Brunch Presented by Alta Vista Healthy Woman, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at El Rialto Restaurant, 141 Bridge Street, in Las Vegas. • Ride To Pride Second Annual Honorary Dinner, on Friday, May 9 at the Civic. Free of charge, to our local active or veteran military members and to the family members of our fallen hero warriors. The dinner and event will be held from 5:30 p.m. to p.m. at The Civic. Following the dinner, there will be a silent auction and dance with live music by Peter Vigil and the Los Hermanos Band. The dance will be open to the public as a fundraiser that will help pay for the services of the Ride To Pride Military Program. Tickets for the dance will be sold in advance, at the dinner and at the door.
