The current fires burning across the country, and in particular those in our state and adjacent counties are bound to have everyone on edge. For this reason I found it important to share a scary situation we had in the neighborhood recently.

At approximately 7 p.m., a police car sped by on East National Avenue, and soon after came a fire truck. From my front porch I saw black smoke rising which seemed to be coming from two blocks away under the University Avenue Bridge exit from I-25.
