Police seeking witnesses

Las Vegas police are seeking any witnesses to the accident last Friday that killed Antonia Bernal, 59, of Springer.

Authorities charged Nico Barela, 18, of Las Vegas with vehicular homicide and failure to render aid. He is accused of leaving the site of the accident after he hit Bernal and Steven J. Duran, who were on a motorcycle.

The accident occurred at Baca and Grand avenues.

Investigator Kenneth Jenkins said he wants to talk with anyone who saw the accident, particularly a couple of drivers who were believed to be in the area.
