Police: Health problem may be the cause

Infant death syndrome or a health problem may have been the cause of a baby’s death in her parents’ bed over the weekend in Las Vegas, Police Chief Gary Gold said, but the state is also considering the possibility of accidental suffocation such as a parent rolling onto the child.

Gold said the state Office of the Medical Investigator will look into the cause of the baby’s death, but its report may not be completed for three to six months. The district attorney’s office is also examining the matter.
