My name is Bethany Bauer, and I’m 13 years old. I care about the environment wholeheartedly, so I decided to find out what is very common, very bad, and very easy to stop using. The answer: plastic shopping bags. Many places have already put a ban on these awful bags, and New Mexico should too.
Plastic shopping bags pollute our groundwater, kill our wildlife, and roll around our state like the symbolic tumbleweed. If we don’t act soon, the plastic shopping bag symbol would be more fitting.
