Students at Legion Park Elementary were recognized at an assembly during the last week of the 2012-13 school year. Students with perfect attendance and the top two fund raisers in the school’s Walk-a-thon fundraiser were awarded prizes by the school’s principal, Gerald Garcia. All students with perfect attendance were presented with new bicycles. The top student fund raiser was also awarded a new bicycle, and the runner-up fund raiser was presented with Garcia’s personal Star Wars Lightsaber. Bicycles were bought with donations from Southwest Capital Bank represented by Vice-President Sharon Garcia, Wells Fargo Bank represented by Sharlette Martinez and Orlando LeFebre, Handy Carpenters’ owner Juan Baca, and Community 1st Bank.
