Sporting one of the deepest lineups in the state, the Pecos boys’ cross country team had little trouble corralling the team championship in Friday’s District 2-2A meet held in Pojoaque.
Also of no surprise was an individual title for Mora’s Alonzo Chavez, who now turns his sights on repeating as state champion.
The Panthers compiled 47 team points to beat Santa Fe Prep (55) and Mora (57). All three boys’ teams qualify for state.
