Crime has been on the decline in public housing over the last couple of years, thanks to a more aggressive law enforcement presence, a police official said this week.
Las Vegas police Capt. Eugene Garcia told the Las Vegas City Council, which acts as the housing authority’s governing board, that the Police Department and the authority launched a new effort in 2008 to combat crime.
“I am really proud of the statistics and what we actually did,” Garcia said.
