San Miguel County Commissioner Albert Padilla said he has had no dealings with Invenergy, a Chicago-based company that is planning wind turbines in the Bernal area.
At a County Commission meeting last week, Gloria Gonzales, a group of residents who want more restrictions on wind farms, said she understood that Padilla may be working on a lease agreement with Invenergy.
Padilla, who wasn’t at the commission meeting, said that wasn’t the case and that Gonzales may be confusing him with another Albert Padilla.
During the meeting, county officials said that commissioners have to file financial disclosure forms to reveal conflicts of interest.
Gonzales later called the Optic and apologized for saying Padilla was working with Invenergy. She said it was another Albert Padilla.
