Elijah Ortiz could use a larger trophy case for his next birthday.
Sooner, if you can help him out.
The 6-year-old Las Vegas resident completed a long undefeated season in junior wrestling that began in October and concluded in March with a national championship. Ortiz is the son of Angelo and Olivia Ortiz and the brother of Noah and Jonah Ortiz.
He earned a title at the district level in a tournament at Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, went on to capture a state title in Moriarty, and finally grappled to a divisional championship in the recent Greater Southwest Nationals.
For the latter, he brought home a big championship belt to go with his district trophy and state ring. He is believed to be the youngest representative from Las Vegas Junior Wrestling to win state.
