A member of the Las Vegas City Schools board has been elected to serve in a top position in a statewide organization.
Fellow members of the New Mexico School Boards Association elected Ramon “Swoops” Montao to be the group’s vice president. The vote took place on Friday in Albuquerque.
Montao, the Las Vegas board’s vice president, said the association didn’t release the vote totals for the three people running, but he said he was told that his tally was “overwhelming.”
