The state police officers who shot and killed Arcenio Lujan just outside city limits on May 8 have been clearned of any wrongdoing, District Attorney Richard Flores announced Today.

Lujan, who earlier that day had been fired from his city of Las Vegas job, was killed after he pointed a weapon at officers.

"The actions taken by Mr. Lujan on that afternoon caused an imminent threat of death or great bodily harm to the police officers that were on the scene," the district attorney's office said in a news release. "The actions taken by officers was justified."
