No. 2 Lady Dons take care of Thoreau

West Las Vegas Lady Dons basketball coach Jose Medina is, as the Wide World of Sports theme once said, “covering the globe,” or in this case, covering the state and giving his team a sneak peek of some top Class 3A teams.

On Saturday West ventured northwest to play one of the top teams in District 1-3A, Thoreau. The Lady Dons had three girls score in double figures in a 58-49 win and improve to 8-1.

West led 13-4 at the end of the first period and got six second-period points from Geneva Rivera to increase its lead to 31-21 at the half.
