Lynnsey Johnson smacked a two-run double with two outs in the top of the seventh, plating the tying and winning runs in New Mexico Highlands’ 13-12 victory over Southwest Oklahoma State on Sunday.
Cowgirl pitcher Jessica Brink then held SWOSU to one hit and no runs in the bottom half of the inning, securing the win — and a weekend split of four games.
The season-opening series was played in Weatherford, Okla.
NMHU dropped the first two games on Saturday, 4-2 and 7-2.
