It’s a good thing the Highlands Cowgirls had Amanda Beauchamp, Desiree Valentine and Katelyn White back in the fold for Monday night’s home game against University of the Southwest. Considering all the fouls whistled against NMHU in the first half alone, the team needed the extra personnel.
Indeed, free throw shooting allowed Southwest to stay in the game in the early going. Highlands, increasingly healthy and boasting a nearly full roster for the first time this season, controlled much of the contest but the Mustangs used a late flourish to snag a 59-51 win.
