A motorcycle rider was arrested for drunken driving after he crashed into another rider recently.

Andrew Baca, 29, 636 El Creston Circle, was charged with aggravated DWI, reckless driving and racing on highways, among other offenses, according to a criminal complaint filed in Magistrate Court.

A couple of weekends ago, police responded to the crash in the 500 block of Grand Avenue. They found the two riders laying on the street.

The complaint states that a witness saw a couple of riders of what are known as “crotch rockets” headed south on Grand when they made a U-turn. They appeared to be racing when they caught up to an unrelated group of bikers.

Baca, one of the crotch-rocket riders, struck one of the bikers in the other group, the complaint states.

Baca told police that the victim made an abrupt left turn as Baca was trying to pass that biker.

A police officer noticed a scent of alcohol on Baca, who admitted to having a Jello shot earlier in the day, according to the complaint.

The injured riders were taken to the hospital, and Baca was arrested.

Las Vegas Police Chief Gary Gold said officers are concerned about riders of crotch rockets racing on the city’s streets.
