With the Albuquerque Isotopes season concluded, the Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled infielder Elian Herrera and right-hander Stephen Fife to help with their push to a National League playoff berth.
Shortstop Dee Gordon, with the ‘Topes their last eight games and the playoffs on a rehab assignment, has also been activated.
Herrera enjoyed a breakout season with Albuquerque, batting .341 in 64 games while hitting 20 doubles, 10 triples, three homers, and driving in 40 runs. His success with the Isotopes earned him his first Major League call-up on May 15, and he batted .244 with 10 doubles, a triple, a homer, and 16 RBI in 53 games.
In 25 games (24 starts) for Albuquerque, Fife went 11-7 with a 4.66 ERA, allowing just 13 home runs over his 135.1 innings pitched. In three starts with the Dodgers, Fife went 0-1 with a 2.16 ERA.
