A Mora High School student was killed when her car hit an oncoming pickup truck on a highway Friday night.
Torie Ann Vigil, 17, of Mora got into the accident on N.M. Highway 434 five miles outside of Mora shortly before 8 p.m., state police Lt. Craig Martin said this morning.
Vigil, the daughter of Herman and Loretta Vigil, was an 11th-grade student at the high school, and she played softball.
State police reported that Vigil swerved off the road and then overcorrected as she was headed toward Mora.
