Mora County Notebook: Mora Little League registration under way

By Ruth Fort

Saturday the Mora Little League had its first registration day at Russell’s parking lot.

It was a busy day for the Little League representatives. They were thankful for the beautiful day (excepting for the wind).

There were many parents and young players enthusiastically looking forward to a new season.

Young people from ages 4 through 16 came to signup for the 2011 Little league season. There were 35 players who signed up on Saturday.

During the registration the workers took sizes for uniforms along with all of the other pertinent information.

This spring we will see everyone suited out in the colorful uniforms that the sponsors will provide. The first 100 received free hot dogs and then the group sold cokes and hot dogs to raise money for the Mora Little League.

There will be other times to register for Little League.

The next registration will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday April 4 at Mora Elementary and Middle School during open house.

There will be a Mora Little League Baseball Camp for players ages seven to 15 on April 16 and 17 at the Little League Baseball Fields in Holman.

Players can sign up there to join the Little League. The baseball camp is free.

There will be no registrations accepted after April 23.  For more information, call Monica Aragon at 505-718-9472.
