Mil gracias - Dec. 27, 2013

-A A +A

As 2013 draws to a close, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Comedor de San Pascual, we would like to thank our contributors who gave us food or money to use for the free meals we provide every Tuesday evening at the Senior Citizen Center in Old Town. The list includes Charlie’s Spic n Span, Lowe’s Market at 7th and Mills, Semilla, Mustard Seed Project at 1st Presbyterian Church, Community 1st Bank, Mayor’s Fund, Sunrise Kiwanis, 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, I.C. Church, Cornerstone Church and many generous individuals. Volunteers came from NMHU, Luna, LV City Schools, West Las Vegas Schools, Mora Community Schools, Knights of Columbus as well as many individuals who make it possible to provide this service.

When the Senior Center has to close for the renovations this next year, we will continue to offer a free meal every Tuesday from 4:30-5:10 p.m. at the 1st United Methodist Church basement on National.

Since the Senior Center will be closed on Tuesday evening, 12/24 and 12/31, we will be serving those meals on Monday, 12/23 and 12/30 from 4:30-5:10 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center.

Most importantly, thank you to Annette Ortega and staff at the Senior Citizen Center as well as the city of Las Vegas for use of the facility that enables us to reach out to the community in the Old Town area. Please let family and friends know that meals are available Tuesdays from 4:30-5:10 p.m. for any person of any age at no cost. Comedor de San Pascual is an outreach of the 1st United Methodist Church.
