The Las Vegas branch of the AAUW thanks the community for its enthusiastic support of the annual used book sale held recently. The proceeds from the sale of the books go to provide scholarship assistance for New Mexico Highlands University women.

Thank you for your generous donations of books and your willingness to buy more to take home.

Thanks also to Art Trujillo for the photo in the Optic, which pictured the book-filled tables in the NMHU Student Center lobby, along with the readers and browsers and volunteers who make this community event both fun and worthwhile.

Thank you for participating. And get ready for a follow-up sale later this year, to raise more scholarship funds. See you then!

On behalf of the Mora boys and girls basketball team, we would like to extend our sincere appreciate to the Office of Admissions and Moses Marquez of Luna Community College for their support as we travel to compete at the 2011 New Mexico State tournament.

We would especially like to thank Mr. Marquez for their contribution of the LCC bags, which were used to carry our personal belongings.
