Mil Gracias

Once again Las Vegas has shown its amazing generosity.  CROP Hunger Walk Las Vegas 2010 collected $11,438.49, a record for our Walk! 

The CROP Walk team wants to thank everyone who donated, walked, talked about the walk or supported it in other ways. Twenty-five percent of this money will come back to Las Vegas to support hunger relief efforts at the Samaritan House, the Las Vegas Community Soup Kitchen and Comedor de San Pascual Soup Kitchen. Seventeen clubs, organizations and churches brought in contributions.  Thirteen restaurants displayed table tents and accepted donations.  Tea Time Quilters donated another beautiful quilt and ThreadBear displayed it and sold raffle tickets. Once again Alta Vista Regional Hospital was our $1,000 corporate sponsor and United World College was our gracious host. KFUN and The Optic spread the word.

At a time when so many are struggling, we are proud and grateful to live in a community where people are willing to help those in need here and around the world.  

CROP Walk 2011 will be on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 to noon at UWC.  Caminemos con El Mundo y Gracias!
