Regular customers of Allsup’s convenience store at Grand Avenue and Alamo Street may have been understandably confused by all the commotion at the store last Thursday morning.

After all, the small parking lot was jam-packed and a couple of dozen people stood in the aisles on one side of the store. They included dignitaries such as San Miguel County Sheriff Benjie Vigil, San Miguel County DWI Prevention Coordinator Wendy Armijo and a number of state officials. They were on hand for the start of a new anti-underage drinking program.
