Las Vegas Mayor Tony Marquez says he is handing his successor a “great administration.”
At last week’s City Council meeting, Marquez recognized the municipal candidates who were in the audience — mayoral candidate Alfonso Ortiz, Ward 1 council candidate Bruce McAllister, and Ward 4 council candidates David Romero and Joseph R. Baca.
Marquez, elected in 2008 after more than a decade on the council, isn’t running for a second two-year term. Ortiz faces two write-in candidates, Patrick Romero and Daniel Holguin, in the March 2 election.
