A man has been charged in connection with the death of another outside of the Inn of Las Vegas bar last weekend — a murder the police chief called a hate crime.
Michael Esquibel, 28, of San Juan Pueblo, N.M., was charged with an open count of murder, attempt to commit murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Police Chief Gary Gold said the victim Manuel Ramirez Rodriquez was a Mexican citizen and that the police believe that he was likely killed because of his nationality.
