Las Vegas police arrested a 49-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed someone Saturday night.
Jerry Cordova, of the 1300 block of Keen Street, has been charged with aggravated battery and tampering with evidence. Magistrate Philip Romero set his bond at $10,000 cash.
According to a statement of probable cause filed Monday in Magistrate Court, the victim, Leroy Vigil, walked into the Las Vegas Police Department at about 10 p.m. Saturday and reported that he had been stabbed on the left side of his stomach.
“Mr. Vigil was not wearing a shirt and he was bleeding,” states the probable cause statement filed by detective Pamela J. Sandoval. Vigil told police he was stabbed at his home on the 1700 block of Montezuma Street by Cordova, his friend.
Vigil said he was stabbed with a small knife with a white handle and silver blade.
Police then went to Cordova’s house, where they observed a small knife with a white handle and silver blade. Cordova went with police willingly, the court document states.
