All eligible individuals are encouraged to apply for Luna Community College’s Roadrunner and Horizon Scholarships that are currently available for the 2008-09 school year.
“We encourage all eligible students to apply and take advantage of the resources Luna Community College has to offer,” said LCC Financial Assistance Director Regina Madrid.
There are about 30 Roadrunner Scholarships that will be awarded. The Roadrunner Scholarship covers tuition and fees. Any student enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program at Luna Community College is eligible.
Applicants must have a cumulative 2.5 or higher grade point average and have completed at least 15 credit hours at Luna Community College.
The Horizon Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors as well as continuing Luna Community College students from Las Vegas City Schools, Maxwell Municipal Schools, Mora Independent Schools, Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools, Springer Municipal Schools, West Las Vegas Schools or Wagon Mound Public Schools. Fourteen $1000 scholarships will be awarded.
Incoming high school graduates must have a cumulative 2.5 grade point average or higher, based on a seven-semester transcript.
Nine $1,000 Horizon Scholarships are available to any student enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program at Luna Community College. Applicants must have a cumulative 3.0 or higher grade point average and have completed a minimum of 20 credit hours at LCC.
Applications for all three scholarships are available at the Luna Community College Student Financial Assistance Office. Applications must be postmarked or received by the LCC Student Financial Assistance Office by June 2.
