Wednesday, Oct. 9 — At a regular meeting yesterday afternoon the Las Vegas Retail Merchants Association discussed the possibility of opening the Christmas season one or two weeks early in Las Vegas and planned for a special meeting Thursday morning in the Community Room of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association. The merchants discussed the opening of the Christmas season. It is understood that Santa Fe and Albuquerque will open the Christmas season in those communities one or two weeks prior to Thanksgiving.
