Tuesday, Oct. 1 — An old surrey was the leading acquisition of the Rough Riders Memorial and City Museum during the month of September. Lent by Richard N. Maloof, it has been in the Maloof family here for nearly 100 years. Other accessions include a bedspread of 1865 and an old picture, from Mrs. Gertrude Crawley; a pipe carried through the Civil War, from W.M. Murpheys; a World War I helmet, from Miguel Madrid; an old apple butter spoon and other items from Mrs. Ozella Todhunter; and a hand-embroidered dress, territorial militia documents and a certificate signed by Theodore Roosevelt, from Frances T. Noser.
