Tuesday, March 12 — San Miguel County Representative Arcenio Gonzales today said that his biggest disappointment in the 26th Legislature which just concluded its session was the lack of initiative on the part of the San Miguel County residents in doing something about the Gallinas River. Gonzales introduced House Bill 270, calling for an appropriation of $50,000 to clean up the Gallinas River and for flumes, but the bill received a “do not pass” recommendation from the House Appropriations and Finance Committee.
