Wednesday, March 18 — Highlands University will discontinue its four-year-old doctoral program in biophysical chemistry as of Sept. 1, Dr. Thomas C. Donnelly, president of the institution, announced today. The announcement followed action of the Board of Regents after a meeting of the university scientists with Donnelly, at which time he informed them of the board’s action. Donnelly said he recommended the action because the highly competitive market for scientists had made it impossible to attract and retain the caliber of staff needed to carry on the program with the money available to the university.
