In 1963

Thursday, June 27, 1963  — A committee of four from the ditch company of San Jose, “El Llano de La Presa Community Ditch,” and Anselmo R. Sedillo, county extension agent, met with Gov. Jack Campbell and gave a report on the damage done to farm land, diversion dams and ditches by the flash flood June 1 when the area had 3 inches of rain in less than one half hour. The governor was very sympathetic with the committee and immediately asked State Engineer Steve Reynolds to send an engineer to investigate the damage first hand. Members of the committee were Antonio Segura, Delfido Mejillas, Melaquias Segura and Brigido Montaño.
