Monday, July 20 — Valuable water which is desperately needed in Storrie Lake was lost Saturday when a flash flood poured down the Gallinas River with logs jamming the Gallinas River Canal gate. The water is badly needed by farms on the Storrie Project. Storrie Lake is extremely low this summer. Livestock loss was also reported in the path of the flood which occurred after heavy rains in the Gallinas Canyon. After the flood, residents along the river were reportedly able to pick up fish all along the banks.
