Monday, Jan. 27— The Highlands University Board of Regents gave tentative approval to a proposal from the faculty to set up a selective student admissions program for the university beginning in September 1964. The plan will require, among other things, a student to have an overall C average or better in his high school studies to be considered for admission. It was pointed out that students with less than a C average in high school do not succeed in the university. Final action on the proposal was delayed until the next meeting of the board.
