Friday, Jan. 11 — Las Vegans were shivering in near zero temperatures today with between 8 and 10 inches of snow on the ground at noon and the light snow continuing. Travel north of Las Vegas was discouraged and all roads and streets were snow-packed and slick. Highway Department, City and Town crews were at work this morning clearing the major streets and highways.
