Wednesday, Feb. 19 — John Lawson, who purchased the Castañeda Hotel in 1962, is remodeling it and converting the second floor into two-room furnished apartments. When the conversion is completed during the summer, there will be 21 apartments on the second floor of the hotel. At that time there will be no more overnight accommodations. At the present time there are 15 apartments ready or nearly ready for occupancy, many of them already rented, and some overnight rooms.
