Friday, Dec. 7 — An old landmark of Las Vegas, the Sundt brick plant, abandoned for several years, is being razed to provide space for a shopping center, restaurant, motel and perhaps a bus station. The plant’s last big run was made 15 years ago, but Sundt manufactured a large number of bricks in hopes of a contract for new buildings at the State Hospital. The land where the plant is located was watered by the original acequia madre, which also watered the Plaza.
