Entertainers from both local school districts will compete in comedy, dance, and song at an East vs. West High School Talent Competition Saturday evening in NMHU’s Ilfeld Auditorium. The three top performers will be awarded scholarships to NMHU.
Comedian and Las Vegas native Jose Maestas will be the master of ceremonies for the event. Maestas has appeared at various locations in New Mexico, including a recent performance at the Hard Rock Casino in Albuquerque.
Robertson High competitors are Sarah Gallegos, Jamie Gillespie, Andrea Gold, Angel Trujillo, Brandi Aragon, Marcos Ortega, Aaron Cordova, and Daniel Gallegos.
West Las Vegas High competitors are Shyanne Ulibarri, Brian Vigil, Anthony Urioste Jr., Jonathan Roybal, Jonathan Chavez, Devon Williams, Nathan Linker and Elijah Clayton Thomas.
The contest will start at 7 p.m. with the doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $5 for students. Call 454-3238 for ticket information.
