Local girls' teams win big as shootout begins

Decisive victories with notable contributions from the reserves as well as the starters. That’s what Las Vegas’ girls’ basketball teams got in the opening day of the Brian Gallegos Invitational on Thursday.

West Las Vegas broke open a relatively close game with Socorro to win big, 65-37. And in the nightcap, Robertson blew out an overmatched young Shiprock Northwest team 84-17.

In the other day one game, Ruidoso routed Raton 64-24.
