The University of New Mexico’s Aussie connection paid dividends Wednesday.
Australian post Cameron Bairstow scored 17 points and guard Hugh Greenwood had 13 to lead the Lobo men’s basketball team past Wyoming 62-59. The Lobos are 18-3 overall and 5-1 to lead the Mountain West.
It was the third loss in a row for the Cowboys, whose resumé includes an upset over San Diego State.
UNM hosts Nevada at 6 p.m. Saturday.
