Little League All-Stars hit Raton

Top Little Leaguers from Las Vegas will join counterparts from Mora, Clayton, Taos, Springer, Questa and host city Raton this week for the district all-star tournaments.

The action begins bright and early Saturday morning in Raton. Each bracket is double-elimination.

Weekend early-round games, by division:

Baseball, 9-10

Mora vs. Questa, 10:30 a.m.; La Plaza vs. Las Vegas, 2:30 p.m.; Clayton vs. Taos, 5 p.m.; Raton plays Mora-Questa winner at 6 p.m. Sunday; La Plaza-Las Vegas winner plays Clayton-Taos winner at 3:30 Sunday. La Plaza-Las Vegas loser plays Clayton-Taos loser at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Baseball, 10-11

Las Vegas vs. Springer, 8 a.m.; La Plaza vs. Taos, 10:30 a.m.; Raton plays Las Vegas-Springer winner at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. La Plaza-Taos loser plays Las Vegas-Springer loser at 9 Sunday.

Baseball, 11-12

Las Vegas vs. Questa, 2:30 p.m.; Taos vs. Clayton, 5 p.m.; La Plaza vs. Mora, 7:30 p.m.; Raton plays Las Vegas-Questa winner at 7 p.m. Sunday. Taos-Clayton loser plays La Plaza-Mora loser at 2 p.m. Sunday. Taos-Clayton winner plays La Plaza-Mora winner at 4:30 Sunday.

Softball, 9-10

Las Vegas vs. Taos, 2:30 p.m.; Raton plays winner at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Softball, 10-11

La Plaza vs. Taos, 8 a.m.; Las Vegas vs. Raton, 10:30 a.m.; winners play each other at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. First-round losers play each other at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Softball, 11-12

Las Vegas vs. Taos, 5 p.m.; La Plaza vs. Raton, 7:30 p.m.; winners play each other at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. First-round losers play each other at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Depending on the number of teams in each bracket, finals should be decided between Tuesday and Thursday of next week, barring any weather delays. Top teams advance to the state tournaments later this month.
