SANTA FE — Many convicted drunken drivers in New Mexico will be prohibited from buying alcohol under legislation approved by the House on Monday although supporters acknowledge there are loopholes that will allow offenders to continue getting liquor.
If the measure becomes law, New Mexico would join at least Alaska in restricting alcohol sales to some convicted drunken drivers, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
