We want to make sure you know that mental health services are available in your community.

The New Mexico Department of Health’s Behavioral Health Institute Community Based Services Division (CBS) is a licensed community mental health provider that has a long history of providing quality community-based mental health services in northern New Mexico. We have operated mental health clinics in San Miguel and Mora counties for 20 years and in Guadalupe County for 15 years.

CBS helps to improve the lives of adults and their families by focusing on the treatment of recovery and resiliency, which empowers individuals with a mental illness to take control of their treatment and live productive lives.

Our clinic offers the following services to adults 18 and older in need of help: psychiatric evaluations including medication management, 24-hour crisis services, behavioral health assessments and treatment planning development, psychosocial rehabilitation services, mental health and substance abuse counseling services, sexual assault services, children’s services and case management for the Developmental Disability Waiver program.

Our services are confidential and based on a sliding fee schedule. The facility has a contract to provide services to the indigent population. If you or someone you know is in need of services, you can contact us by utilizing the crisis line at (505) 425-1048 or (505) 454-5100 or toll free at (800) 446-5970. You can also visit us online at http://www.nmbhi.org/community.shtml. We remain dedicated to providing mental health services to the populations of San Miguel, Mora and Guadalupe counties.
