Letter: One-way plan would be a waste

-A A +A
By Annette P. Clancy

Changing National Avenue to a one-way street going west from Eighth to 12th streets would be a waste of time, money and a public safety concern.

Increasing traffic to the side streets will most certainly affect students and residents in the area. This change would confuse visitors to our city also.

The beauty of the university buildings on National Avenue, are meant to be admired and seen from both directions.

There are historical streets in Las Vegas, National Avenue being one of them. The others are South Pacific and Hot Springs Boulevard. These streets crisscross Las Vegas and have served their purpose well for many years.

To the powers that be: Why would you do this to our community?
