Letter: Mil Gracias

Nov. 11 of each year is the day that we ensure veterans know that we deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made in our lives to keep our country free. Veterans Day, honors all American Veterans, both living and dead, however, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank living veterans for dedicated and loyal service to our country.

On behalf of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 1131 in Mora, we want to thank, honor and salute all veterans who answered their country’s call for the brave sacrifices in defending our freedom. Some of our veterans paid the ultimate price with their lives.

America, if you love your freedom, reach out help and thank a veteran. It is the least we can do. Because of these brave men, this country remains the greatest nation on earth! On this Veterans Day, we will be thinking of you and your comrades.

Recently, Mr. Modesto Borrego, a World War II veteran, received his overdue medals for his action in the European, African and Middle East campaigns of World War II. We thank Anna Delay of Sen. Tom Udall’s office for researching the records, which was instrumental in Mr. Borrego receiving his well-deserved, long overdue medals. We never forget to thank any of our veterans.

May God bless you, and may God Bless America! Muchas Gracias!
